Dear Friends,

Did you know that you can painlessly transform the size, shape, color and strength of your teeth with Veneers?

Lumineers are an ultra-thin, ultra-comfortable, and ultra-simple form of dental veneer that is applied seamlessly over your teeth for a bright, beautiful, natural looking smile.  It is the brand of Veneers that is most advertised.

There are many differences between Lumineers and traditional veneers. We encourage you to take a few minutes to look them over and ask us questions and do some online research to understand your options.

What are dental veneers?

Veneers are tooth-colored shells that are custom-made and applied to the surface of teeth. They are typically used cosmetically.

Veneers are used to fix the size, shape or color of teeth that have undesirable defects like staining, chips, gaps, breaks or worn surfaces to obtain a more attractive appearance.

How are Lumineers different from normal veneers?

Traditional veneers require the dentist to shave off about 0.5 mm of enamel from the tooth’s surface before application using permanent adhesive. Because the procedure can cause sensitivity, standard veneers are typically applied under anesthetic. If the veneer breaks or is lost somehow, the surface must then be covered with another material to protect the tooth.

Applying Lumineers is an anesthetic-free process that is generally done without the need for grinding down the tooth’s surface. Lumineers are completely reversible and if removed, may not require cover for the teeth.

Material, Appearance, and Durability:

Because they are ultra-thin and highly translucent, they replicate the natural appearance of enamel more effectively than traditional veneers. Lumineers are durable and resistant to wear, remaining resilient for over 10 years.
